Project Overview
The GameAid project supports Vietnamese educators in developing awareness, experience, and understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) in education through an interactive serious game.

As AI tools like large language models (LLMs) transform education worldwide, Vietnamese educators face both opportunities and challenges in adapting to this shift. While national policies promote digital learning – such as online assessments and flexible education – many teachers still struggle with digital literacy and designing effective AI-enhanced learning experiences. A 2020 survey revealed that only 40% of Vietnamese educators feel confident using technology in teaching, and just 25% have received sufficient training. With Vietnam ranking 74th in the Global Talent Competitive Index, there is an urgent need to bridge this gap through innovative, engaging solutions like serious games.

GameAid addresses this challenge by integrating the OpenAI API into a serious game, offering educators hands-on experience with GenAI applications in teaching. Beyond gameplay, GameAid provides a GenAI competency framework and a centralised online hub to help educators deepen their understanding, fostering accessible, inclusive, and innovative teaching practices. By combining gamified learning with cutting-edge AI, GameAid seeks to equip Vietnamese educators with the skills to harness GenAI effectively – ensuring better learning outcomes for students in the digital age
Project Objectives
The GameAid project has five key objectives: (1) Designing a serious game; (2) Developing a playable prototype; (3) Evaluating the game’s effectiveness; (4) Creating a GenAI competency model; and (5) Establishing an online GenAI hub. Together, these objectives aim to bridge the digital skills gap and foster meaningful adoption of GenAI in Vietnam’s education sector.
Designing a serious game

that reflects real-world GenAI educational experiences through an iterative process, incorporating literature reviews, workshops, and focus groups to ensure alignment with educators' needs.

Creating a GenAI competency model

specifically for Vietnamese educators, outlining the skills needed to integrate AI into their practice.

Developing a playable prototype

that offers hands-on, interactive learning to help educators explore GenAI concepts and applications in an engaging way.

Establishing an online GenAI hub

to host the game, competency framework, and supporting resources, ensuring educators have centralized access to guidance on AI-enhanced teaching.

Evaluating the game’s effectiveness

in boosting educators' awareness, understanding, and confidence in using GenAI tools for teaching.
